CAROLLE BENITAH IN MEMORIAM, 1964 -2024
Our dear artist Carolle Bénitah, who made the family relashionship the essence of her powerful art, passed away on April 2, 2024.
Carolle had been able to express childhood in a very specific and direct way, she told the tumults of life with a distinct sincerity.
Our deepest sympathy and thoughts are towards her family. We have been honored and touched deeply with the many years of work we did closely with Carolle, moved by her art and spirit. We love her simply.
May her soul rest in peace.

LILLY LULAY AT THE VERWEY MUSEUM, HAARLEM, THE NETHERLANDS
Thread. On embroidery as resistance and healing
D(R)AAD connects past and present by combining historical embroideries with contemporary works of art. In addition, D(R)AAD pays attention to social embroidery initiatives that use embroidery as a social bond or as a means to process trauma, both individually and collectively. The historic 'liberation skirt' in the Verwey Museum Haarlem in the exhibitionAll Haarlemmerscan be seen, is the reason for D(R)AAD. The works of Lilly Lulay, Klaas Rommelaere and Patricia Kaersenhout, among others, can be seen until April 21, 2024.
