German photographer Andreas Gefeller makes visual misdirection and deception the very basis of his aesthetic. Photographing modern cityscapes and man made spaces through bird's- and worm’s-eye perspectives and utilizing composite construction, his images destabilize the notion of photographic reality.
Andreas Gefeller’s work has been included in numerous photo festivals, including The New York Photo Festival (2008), Seoul Photo Festival (2011), and Noorderlicht Photofestival (2011). Gefeller’s work can be found in the collections of the Museum Marta Herford (Herford, Germany), The New Art Gallery Walsall (UK), Saatchi Gallery, (London) Kunstmuseum Bonn (Germany), and Taubman Museum of Art (Roanoke, VA), among several others.
